Default 2T Carby Flooding and hard to start

Rebuilt the carby on my 2T a few weeks ago and have noticed the carby floods with fuel when it's cold and won't start. I had conflicting specs when I was setting the float so was thinking this might be the culprit? One said to set at 10mm, the other at 4mm, (I went with 10mm) so thinking this could be the cause. Once the car actually starts it runs like a dream, it's just the initial start up for about 5 mins where it has trouble.

What carby do you have? I had weber 32/36 DGV but now have twin aisins on my 2t. I could when knowing what carby you have get the specs for you.

Just the standard Aisin Carby. Think the paperwork I got with the kit is what told me 10mm and 4mm was from a 2t manual on the web.

Did you use the flood gage cutout that normally comes with the kit to set your float height?

Standard 2T carbs have an inspection window on the side that allow you to check that the level is correct. Fuel level should line up with the dot in the centre of the window.
