hi I bought a ta22 about 6 months ago that had a 3tgte. engine had apparently been rebuilt. ithas plenty of supporting mods. 550 injectors, 3 inch exhaust, fmi, oil cooler, link 4g plus ecu, 4agze cas, 4agze coil packs, garrett gt2871r std trim. any way It has been boosted to 16 psi but its only making 155 kw atw. anyone know of some one in bris that has experience with getting these motors to make power?
Hi there mate,
For an internally stock engine that may be par for the course. That calculates back quite similar to my turbo 3TC for N/A reference of just shy of 80rwkw.
I had a mild cam to help breathing on the asthmatic pushrod head & while you have twin cam the 3TGTE head is more restrictive than the 2TG head so comparison may not be too bad...
Anyhow more boost is the answer! At 22psi I made 200rwkw & over the next couple of years I eventually crept it up to 38psi before it all Chernobyl'd.
Sorry but I cannot add any helpful suggestions on a tuna however.
Cheers,
Jason
