I had a quick look at something like this have seen them used in Ford conversions and the Toyota RA28 uses similar components.

I think this rack is power assist via 12Vdc

This one has Honda Civic printed on it, I have had a look at pick a part but have not seen one as yet, wanted to compare where they swing their LCA.
there is also a fluid power steer unit.

I had a look at the daewoo lanos ones today. Its a no go for me it would fix bumpsteer but it mounts to body not xmember so itd be a pain to retrofit plus shortening the arms would be necessary and thatd be a pain. I went to upullit today and grabbed a manual rack from an 86 mazda 626 it was 530 long but a piece of piss to shorten got it down to 470mm with the same travel as ke70, would have to build up with weld and cut more teeth then shorten housing to get more

You don't have to fit it on the firewall here are some example of this fitted to original mounting points

use an AE86 rack, crossmember LCA's and radius arms. youll end up with about 7mm increase in track if you use all these parts together. the LCA is quite close to the disk and if you've got a peugeot rotor then it will hit. you can use RA lower control arms but it increases the track by about 20mm a side. this isint a problem really because that equates to about 2 degrees camber.
there is no change in geometry from the parent car if you use all the parts together.
i would recommend spacing the 86 crossmember down from the bottom of the rail by about 40mm to give you the opportunity to get your engine sitting lower.

They are called center pull racks and easiest way to find one is from a holden camira.
It makes the conversion much easier but hardest thing will be coupling the steering column to the rack as the angles are all different to the wat it enters the steering box. Also you will need to add a power steering pump, reserviour and lines.
