Default Quad throttle on 16v 4AGE questions

I'm sure there are many threads and/or pages out there that talk about how to get 20v quad throttles onto a 16v small port 4AGE, however all the pages I've found either have had most/all the photos expire from wherever they were hosted, or have not really answered my questions If I've missed a page that answers my questions, please let me know where I've missed!

Basically, I have some silver top quad throttles. Have T3 adaptor plate, and trumpets. Going to get Unifilter socks. Have vacuum manifold on the way. Planning to run 4 x vacuum from T3 manifold to vacuum manifold, and run MAP sensor, brake booster and FPR off vacuum manifold. Am going to attempt to use SAFC to make it run ok, hopefully that will be enough, if not maybe aftermarket later, but there seems to be quite a number of people who have mentioned they got it running (rich) with stock computer, so I'm hopeful to get something running anyway.

    My questions:

    1) Cold start injector, it looks like I just get rid of this and get a short bolt and plug up the fuel rail? Leave the bare plug as is?
    2) The 2 nips on throttles 1 and 4, what do I do with these? Just plug them up?
    3) The other 4 nips on the other side of the throttle were linked 1-2, 3-4, I'm guessing I leave them as is.
    4) Idle, sounds like I can either attempt to adjust via bypass valves on the throttles, or most people seem to have success in cracking the throttles open slightly?
    5) Just confirming - I need to reverse the wiring on the TPS?
    6) Standard intake manifold brace obviously won't work with quads - I'm guessing this just gets taken out and not replaced.
    7) Vacuum line that goes to charcoal canister (haha, yup I still have one), just leave it disconnected since it has nowhere to go now?
    8) Air temp sensor, just zip tie somewhere close to the intake since there is no real plenum anymore?

    Thanks in advance

    1. Yes
    2. Yes
    3. Cap them
    4. Make a stop and crack the throttles a ants cock to set your idle
    5. Yes
    6. In the bin it goes
    7. Fuck off the entire thing personally, its not like your complying with any sort of emissions any more so its just dead weight
    8. Yes

Apparently quads will work on a stock MAP setup, not well but it will run.

Only extra thing I will say is you should try to have a dedicated vacuum source for your brake booster separate from the vacuum manifold used for MAP sensor or fuel pressure reg as the brake booster will "use" vacuum when you are on the brakes and as such will cause fluctuations in the pressure in the chamber, which can play havoc with the map sensor signal and fuel pressure if it's connected to the same chamber.

Interesting, and makes vacuum lines also a bit interesting. From what I've read, the stock 20V has the brake vacuum from those nips on throttles 1 & 4, t-eed together. Would it work if I ran my brakes off this then? The silvertop manifold I got wasn't set up like this, it had the FPR coming off one, and nothing hooked onto the other (no idea what it was hooked on - maybe brakes?). But then the silvertop manifold I got doesn't look anything like some of the photos I've seen of other silvertop/blacktop manifolds...

Also, when removing the charcoal canister, what do you do with the line from the fuel tank that normally goes to the charcoal canister? Surely I can't just leave it open?

keep the charcoal canister just don't connect it to the manifold. tuck the vent line that used to go to the manifold out of sight and out of mind somewhere in the engine bay

for stock vac line piping best bet is to do a google image search. there are a few images out there with all the vac connections labeled. the silvertop used an AFM rather than a map sensor so the vacuum system is laid out quite differently to the blacktop which ran a MAP sensor.

Yes, have done image search on stock vac line piping, and have found several different versions of it. The only one I've found with lots of things labeled though is from that guy from Malaysia, and is very different to the one I have. And yes, aware that silvertop is AFM vs MAP for blacktop.
