I don't like the idea of other types of cars involved.
Ke70's and Ae71's would be the exception i would think.

A multitrack series is a sweet dream. I dont think it can be achieved I mean people dont want to drive across state for a fun holiday let alone to multiple states to race... Hell some people dont even turn up to events in their own city! This affects us because it costs money to rent tracks and we cant have people going yeh im in then pull out because it would be a disaster for the organisers.

That said. I think WINTON is definately the go. It should be the aim. And lets just focus on that for next year.

As far as peoples concearns about turbo vs n/a. I think an elimination time to cap out the slow drivers into a topgroup. Or just have everyone on track, and a reverse pole start (fastest lap times at the rear). And cars get released on handycaps (just like improved production) IE. first 6 cars go. then 4sec wait and next 6 cars go.

It does have the possible consequence of getting messy but I think itd be slack to eliminate drivers from competing after they travel interstate with 4ac hachis... Besides being in the thick of the action is what this event will be about. I definately dont want it to be some driver training parade around the course.

reverse grid start = bent hachis

If people are going to be racing for places, then i wont be joining in the fun. Remember most of the hachi drivers that join in are not experienced track drivers, and its hard enough on a drift day to get people to be sensible, let alone on an all out track day when people will get serious cases of tunnel vision, and forget any race craft they may or may not have.

I know there are some experienced track racers out there, but if we want this to be an event for all comers, both experienced and those that just got their P's, then i think a "best time" format is whats needed.

there also might be cams etc licencing issues if it is to be a proper race meet.

    dont be weak cannonball
ts only the rop 10 best drivers
i can guarantee ben from Bel garage will attend and is a VERY competant steerer in his WRX no less his hachi.
as for a LOT of other hachi drivers, i think you underestimate the amount of actual good drivers in our scene, rather than just the kids that are inexperienced.

this series is the reason they will come out of the woodwork

there will have to be classes, the amateur and pro class with only the pro class being gridded up at the end
amateur would be time based only.

    that would work i rekon.

Good to hear Ben will possibly drag his hachi out as well, Im keen to see how it runs with the new engine setup.

This is exactly what I'm getting at. Even for the amateur dudes who don't geet to really mix it up with the top dogs, it's still going to be awesome to watch a top 10 battle, and still have a chance at taking a title with their time-based result.

count me in for this, looks like its going to be real fun, like a giant ae86 meet, but we can actually do some legal racing! Australian AE86 N2 cup!!!

For an idea on classes maybe look at the way IPRA is classed. U1600, U2L, O2L etc, and uses a 1.7 multiplier for forced induction.

If i have the time off work i will probably attend.
