has anyone driven a car with a de-powered rack in a toyota before? and hits tips or tricks or feedback? i cant find it now but there is a bloke in the states who build a ridiculously clean red ma61 with a turbo 1uzfe who de-powered his rack and had heaps of pics and how it felt to drive and stuff but i cant for the life of me find it. there is a bit on other forums with mixed feed back but haven't really found much on the toyota front yet, altho i assume it would be very similar.
i have a rt142 without power steering with lock spacer, ra65 power steer arms (shorter), max castor and welded diff and it can be tiring at times but still not to bad, so im hoping the mx73 with de-powerd rack and less weight than standard over the front will be no harder to wheel around than that, altho power racks generally have a shorter ratio correct?
im considering this to keep the engine bay nice and clean, not have to worry about leeks and blowing hoses ect and because i damaged the lines on the rack removing the old 5me buy my self (should have got a hand).
i was planing on dismantling the rack and removing/ cutting slots in the piston so there is no resistance from air and grease in the rack.
any past experiences/ideas/feedback would be great
