Default Anyone removed D2C/D2S HID's DIY replaced with Halogen for compliance or Roadworthy?

    My Crown has arrived,

I went and attempted a pass on pits,
failed on Japanese Mirrors (now ruined by putting standard glass in, however kept the japanese glass with the blindspot section to put back in later)
failed on tint over privacy glass (now removed, fair enough it was like 7%)

    annnndddd ...

failed on factory Toyota HID headlights, they are auto-leveling, however Toyota didnt put Washers on Crowns in 2001....
Anyway, having looked at the size and shape of the hole once the HID's are removed, H3C globes seem the closest, So i have done this so far:

First, unbolt the headlights from the Crown

Disconnect Ballast power up and auto-leveling power and parkers/indicators

Remove back seal caps from the main and high beamping

Unscrew the HID Ballast box cover from the lower section of the headlight, feed the highbeam 2 pin connector wiring back through and out the hole once you have the seal cover off.

Pull back the two leaver spring holders that clamp the HID globe down, remove the HID globe, make sure you dont touch the glass of the HID globe.

Pry open the clips that hold cover for the positive and negative splade fittings in

Remove the splades using some needle nose pliersping

Now you can feed out the HID globe holder through the internal hole and the ballast cover etc and keep it all as two seperate items

Now we cut off the two HID ballast power and negative wires about midway in length, and attach two splade fittings so we can swap back to HID's when we have passed roadworthy... or in W.A. "the pits"

Route the new wires from the splade fittings through the origina location the HID wires went through, ping

Grab a pack of two (2) of these from Super cheap / repco / auto 1ping

    And two H3C globes.

Cut a slit in the centre of each grommet and slip the "pin" end of the H3C globes through, jam into the hole where you removed the HID globe and Globe holder :

Clamp it down using the original leaver spring holders

Connect up the new wiring and splade fittings you made earlier , ensure you reconnect the HIGH BEAM (white wires and connector) as well.

Screw the original HID Ballast seal cover back on , hiding all the wiring you just made

Replace both seal/covers for each Low (original HID) and high beam on the back of the headlight, re-install headlights back into Crown.
Turn on the headlights, and enjoy the shit quality light produced and all the forced illegal modification of what you have just done, to please the roadworthy inspection.

Now , I guess this might work, obviously ill be re-installing my HID's once passed,
However im worried due to the H3C may not be "positioned" correctly and they will fail me for incorrect headlamp height/light level or spray of light.... essentially ive illlegally modified my headlights to pass W.A. Design rules ...
Has anyone here, done this before, or know anyone in compliance (ex-imports101 ?? ) or can think of another way, to insert another type of Halogen globe into a D2S HID housing ?

any thoughts appreciated.... im going back to "the pits" on Wednesday

Could you not have fitted a set of headlight washers?
