If you look elsewhere in Toymods I asked the same question about a Ford Laser KC (mazda 323).
I spoke to an ex-Ford mechanic about the same problem and he told me how to do it. On the end of the rack was a thin flat. I bought a $1`spanner from Supercheap and ground it thinner to fit the flat. I cut the other end off and slid it into a length of pipe. I then put a set of stilsons over the round tie rod end and quickly pulled both together and snapped the pin, then unscrewed the rod.
The pin was a tiny spring roll pin that only goes into the bottom of the thread root and not through the shank. It only just bites into the thread.
The new rod is locked in with Loctite thread lock.
