Default 3uz hilux conversion fuel and transmission options

I need more help deciding what to do with the drive train, I've got a 3uz with the 5 speed auto. I cant decide whether its easier to mate a transfer to the transmission which i think a few have done before or opt for one of the conversion kits from dellows or krs racing or even bullet superchargers and mate up a r150f/r151f. I like the idea of tremec t56 ive seen a few adapter plates and reckon i could find one for around $1200 but i cant find any info and putting a transfer case on one which makes me wary.

I've got all the ecu's and the smart key. I'm currently removing the harness from the engine so i can clean up the block as it has fair bit of road grim then i can inspect under the valve covers and intake manifold and redo the gaskets which look to be *****. I'm going to install the drive by wire set-up to because it seems easier for the moment than running a throttle cable.

Im still stuck for what to do fuel set-up wise it only has the fuel intake on the passenger side fuel rail being a return less system. its all going in a ln106 hilux which is diesel so ill have to start from scratch dont feel like jury rigging the current diesel tank. Im thinking a surf or 4runner petrol tank, running the fuel pump in that and just out of the fuel tank running a fuel pressure reg and connecting the return line there. i think i would still like more capacity so perhaps a larger cruiser or patrol tank that could fit in the spare wheel well? Dont really want to fork out $1100 for a longeranger fuel tank when second cruiser tank etc are going for $80 lol really looking for suggestions on setup, which pump and tanks.

I'm open to all suggestions to my questions, im building this truck to go anywhere so reliability is a must we plan on going to cape york in the next 12 months and id like to cross the simpson as well. I'm only running 31s with standard diffs so ill probably put in some type of detroit lsd in the rear and a selectable locker front and maybe 33s in the future however they would be illegal so I'm not sure. Also tossing up a rear disc brake conversion, is it worth it? engineer said he could sign off on it for few extra quid just want to know if i should bother or just stick with the drums, ill be throwing dba slotted rotors on the front with some ebc greenstuff pads. I'm going to make up a test stand tomorrow so i can get the engine running with everything i need outside the engine so the swap can be quick as **** and the lux isnt down for too long.

Im in Brisbane too in Arana Hills if anyone feels like giving me a hand or enlightening me to what some of the electronics and vacuum hoses are for, some are really peculiar or just randomly terminate in unusual plugs on the engine.

Apparently you need to set up a return line somewhere upstream. A good option is fuel filter of VW/Audi/Skoda (last gen, fsi and tfsi engines) which has built-in regulator and is cheap. It comes in 2 sorts with regulators set to 4.0 bar and 6.3 bar. You need 4. That's a bit higher than factory 3.3bar but still ok to go for its simplicity

Another option is sourcing 2UZ fuel rails which have regulator and return line. They run at 3.0 bar which isn't way too bad either.

2uz is always simpler in technology for same production years. For example '2000 2uz has return line, no ACIS, no VVTI.
You can also unscrew 17mm stub in front of any of the 2 1uz rails, replace it with 1/4"-> hose adapter, and run some aftermarket regulator.

yes the 3uz is the ugliest fo those motors
more solenoids and vac shit compared to 1uz and 2uz

u can always buy an adjustable fuel pressure reg and fit it just after the fuel pump
run hi pressure line all way to engine then somewhere between fuel pump and engine
fit T piece and of that t piece run it to pressure reg then return from pressure reg to tank
that's what we do for most of the ls1s
u don't need vac to reg so this means its easier to fit it near pump

last 3uz I did we were able to get it running without the key for some reason which was good

well then its settled lol i might grab an old surf petrol tank and fuel pump and just run the t piece like dumbass suggested or even find the filter and reg unit and use that thanks for the heads up the next big hurdle is engine mounts i have no idea what to do for them and engineer wants some one qualified to make them anyway lol ive got the originals might try and find a way to mount the engine part of the mount to the original hilux mounts? any pictures would help.

In regards to all the vac lines and acis and vvti ive left them pretty much all original and connected where i can and im running the standard ecu with as many of the sensors connected as i can im just fingers crossed hoping they all work.
Ive also settled for r150f transmission because id like to keep it manual and i feel the ratios are a tad better i know ill need an adapter to bolt it to the engine and another adapter to bolt the gear driven transfer on but i reckon it will be sweet any thoughts would be appreciated cheers

looks like that but unsure what particular pressure it runs (possible options are 6.3 / 4.0 bar)

the ones with the proper pressure are

    mann WK 69/2
    bosch 0 450 905 925
