Default aw11 heater lines flow for turbo coolant

I'm planning to use my heater lines for the turbo coolant

I'm not sure about whether the coolant is constantly flowing through the heater lines and bybassing the heater core when the heater is turned off, or whether it just sits there static in the lines until the heater is turned on.

As you can see in the pic, there is a fair distance for the heater lines in an aw11.

If there's constant flow circulating, I can just plumb the turbo in series on one of the lines, but if not I'll have to find another way, either bypassing heater operation altogethor, or use a tee piece to bleed off some heater coolant to and from the turbo.

Wondering what some of you guys have discovered with the aw11 heater lines.
And can you tell which line is to/from the heater core in the pic?

if you tee in from the heater in/out lines in the engine bay it becomes irrelevant whether the coolant flows when the heater is on or not, as the water pump will still pump the coolant through the circuit you just made...

just fyi ST205 3sgte's feed the turbo from the water bypass and water neck, the bypass feeds the heater as well so by that logic I think you will be safe

Your fine using the heater core lines, normally, yes, the water stays static till the heater tap is open but if your teeing into the lines your creating a path for coolant to flow.

    Image is fixed.

So the smart solution seems to be to tee into both lines, which may reduce flow to the heater core, but probably not significantly.

Finding a reducer tee to go from 5/8 inch down to 1/2 inch is harder than I thought, not much available at the local superdodgy etc.

Where do you guys go for your heater hoses and fittings etc.?
