and anyone have the test procedure for the airflow meter if there is one?
So ive gone back to a toyota. Its a 02 hilux 4wd with a 3rzfe (love this engine to death). Has about 220***km on the clock.
My problem is it has a flat/hesitation spot when taking off and changing between gears and seems sluggish.
Prime example is doing 100km in 4th then change to 5th and it drops power and wont go past 90km.
Things ive done so far
New plugs
Fresh 95 fuel
and FUEL SYSTEM CLEANER / CONDITIONER
Also removed the air flow meter and gave it a clean with CRC mass airflow sensor cleaner
Next iam thinking is fuel filter and then a fuel pump.
It feels likes its starving of fuel or air. Once it gets going it seems ok
and anyone have the test procedure for the airflow meter if there is one?
I would changer the fuel filter. Check the leads and the coil pack is not grounding out on engine rocker cover. You're coil pack could be wearing out causing one cylinder getting less spark. Also hook up a scan tool and check that you're O2 sensors are okay. I had same trouble with my 08 hilux 2.7 after, plugs, fuel filter turned out to be a worn out O2 sensor. Sensor 2. I replaced both and now is fine. If you are near Brisbane to Ipswich or Gold Coast, I have a ob2 scan tool and can come and help if you want.
