Simply strip the box, note the bearing numbers and head off to your local bearing shop. should cost you less than 200 bucks for every bearing including the throwout.
Hi guys.
Wanting some info in where I can get a rebuild kit for a T50 gearbox.( cant remember if its a 2t or 3t ) but its an alloy split case out of a 1600 celica
Synchros & selectors seem fine, i e it shifts nice and smooth & doest jump out of gear, but it has developed a bad whine so looks like the bearings are on the way out
Have tried a few transmission places and even my Toyota dealer but I just get blank looks and " um...err...sorry..cant help"
Any help would be appreciated

I was looking at doing that, there is a good bearing place in town, but dont think they can do the seals.
The local Toyota guy pointed me towards toyodiy.com which list parts etc...
But that says the box ( from a KE55 ) is listed as a K50 transmission
So its going to take a bit more research to get the right info
Call these guys:

I don't think they 'directly' sell to the public but they'll give you the name of their local distributor.

I think K-TOY2010 should be right for your application, but call them and make sure. I got a bearing kit through them about 18 months ago for my W50
EDIT - mine came with the seals as well.

i just rebuilt my t50 about a month ago, its a piece of piss, just remove the bearings (note where they came from) go down to your local bearing joint and they will have them, as for gaskets, just use either blue max, grey max or black max. all up it cost $80 and it runs like a dream
Quick google search found this, it might be worth a look and contact this guy.

That's really not too bad a price considering it includes genuine synchros (I paid ~$450 trade for mine). I think you could do better though, my bearing kit (admittedly for W50, but the price difference shouldn't be huge) cost me $150 and the local supplier asked for the partnumbers of the genuine synchros I was going to buy so they could quote me on them. My natural cynicism meant I assumed they were going to call toyota and then just mark them up, so I bought them from toyota myself. Turns out I could have gotten a non genuine set for $150.
My rebuild kit from ATC included gaskets as well.

Any idea of the ATC kit cost..
Call them and find your local distributor. They don't sell directly to the public so in the end the cost is up to the distributor. Mine cost me about $150 at trade if I recall correctly - for a W50, not a T50. My memory is a little hazy on the matter however. Worst case you'd get change from $250 for bearings / seals / gaskets.

Thats better than the $800 I was quoted to send it away
depending on model of T50 ie Celica 20 spline output or AE86 Sprinter/Trueno 22 output spline all bearings except input are the same. Sprinter has approx. 18mm wide roller bearing as other boxes have approx. 16mm wide ball bearing on input shaft. The Celica kit you should be able to buy full bearing kit from any good bearing company. The Ae86 input bearing can only be purchased from Amayama, if you need part number let me know I still have packaging from my kit. My aftermarket kit cost $290 trade with synchros but had to buy AE86 bearing once dismantled.
I just checked Amayama part no. 90365-30020 and are available for $90 + post, this is AE86 roller bearing.
The ATC catalog has a T50L kit but not a T50E.
Am I right in assuming there pretty much the same except for input shaft bearing
Hey Stu,
There is a bloke on OzClubbies who is selling the whole rebuild kit for $495 posted anywhere in Australia. All high quality OEM bearings etc.
I just bought one today and he only has one left so get in fast if you still need it.
Will apparently be putting together more kits for each generation of T50 box in future.
