These hold on to the belts and hook up from the moment you start, I know a bloke who put a set on a clubman (he didnt fully realise how they wear) and he reckons they were done after 35 laps. He wasn't happy spending $1200 for 35 laps but I'll spend $100 if I can get 15 lol
Yeah mate, otherwise I'll drive up and get them.
Is there any way to tell which compound was used on these? I've currently got V70A's on the Excel & get about 1 year out of them, so I'm curious.
compound should be on the sidewall. I had medium compound V70As and got something like 5000kms of street driving plus 3 trackdays out of them, and they were half worn BEFORE i got them! I can't rate them highly enough! They need some heat in em, like any semi does, but once they are hot, dear god the grip...
sounds like the soft compound tyres are mega mega soft though. hence the price.. if you don't buy them dneg, I will!
Stay away ****!
Just went out to have a look at mine. Couldn't see a compound anywhere.
Mind you, mine are almost 10 years old now. Maybe they only had 1 compound back then
I'm actually going to be meeting this guy tomorrow to look at the tyres. I'll let you know how they are. Is anyone bidding on them?
umm yeah me!
medium and hard V70As wear fantastically for track days - my old set had 8 track days + ~3000 road kms, and even then it was me denting a rim that finally killed them.
Won the tyres for $104, went over my budget but I'm sure the $4 wont kill me
Pending the fronts, might buy a set of NT01's from St George tyres to round the bill up to $480 lol
Revised the list for the car, its longer, going to take two days off work before my mini holiday to China to get the car ready:
1. Blueslip & rego (ouch!)
2. Replace oil cooler hoses
3. Plumb in the head drain
4. Fix the front lower lip
5. Brake pads + fluid
6. Fab new exhaust, will run a 'spark arrestor' aka smallest 2 1/4" hot dog I can find.
7. Put at least 500km on the motor and change the oil.
8. Pickup and fit new tyres to wheels, figure out how to put 4 wheels inside the car.

pull passenger seat out. 3 in passenger side. one in the frunk.
or ask garth or someone else with a hatch to take them for you
I'm thinking put two on the engine lid with a strap of some sorts?
