Have heard some people mention that they run their Ta22 without a brake booster and was thinking of doing the same. Was just wondering if anyone can share some pictures of their setup? Would I be able to get away with just bolting the new master to the firewall and using the existing push-rod from the brake pedal? Or would the push-rod required some bracing/modification?
Wonder if it's possible just to buy a trailer master like that and just use the pusrod part adapted to my own master?
I'm curious as to why you would want to get rid of the booster & if you want it to be road legal it might pay to talk to someone up your way as to wether its actually allowed ?? before you end up doing it ..
Doesn't need to be road legal so not a problem. Can't get a cheap exchange/repair kit here so might as well get rid of it.
I am going non-booster. I have FD RX7 4 pots on the front with 295ish rotors and will start with a 7/8 brake booster like what Takai used on his Sprinter race car. That will be my starting point. I have a wilwood bias valve to adjust the rear line pressure.
The pushrods from the booster is what I plan on using but I foresee mods to make it work with the master. You have to destroy the booster to get the pushrod out.
I'm not running a booster because race car.
SHEPPO..
Just Google "Leigh Forrest Celica" and you will see pictures of a TA22 with no booster.

The software required Win95 or better, so I installed Linux.
