    Default Denso Coilpacks now smaller?

a mate of mine got in some 90919-02230 denso coilpacks for my IS200 from where ever (i think off some company in the UAE where they make 10013205978 million HP in patrols and cruisers), as they cross over to a few UZ variants..

anyway, for about $30 each genuine labeld Denso, in Denso boxes, identical part numbers etc etc.. i was not arguing..

i should have taken a pic, but the top of the coil pack, is about 2/3 the size of the 15 year old ones in the car, other than that, the are the same. length, size, OD... are they now smaller? or did i purchase some bosch 044's that arn't real bosch 044's??

    cheers,

There are some factories in China that make replicas of Genuine toyota coilpacks even making the packaging and part numbers look like genuine too.

Unless ofcourse for whatever reason Toyota decided to not change the part number at all and change the coil which is hard to believe.

might keep one of the not 'dead' ones in the car with a 10mm socket just incase...

gotta love china and ther no fks given attitude to copyright or patent laws, where else can you buy a set of adjustable 4AGE cam gears, anodised purple centres, sinted steel outers, timing marks that actually are accurate, and embossed with HKS logo's, for $28 AUD delivered...

all pictured together, the original 15 year old item (the 'big Denso')
the japanese made aftermarket (YEC brand)
    the 'genuine' Denso recently purchased.

regarding part numbers, i have known part numbers to be obselete, and be replaced with a new part number with an identical part (seals and gaskets)

i mean it's not like toyota make thier own seals and bearings etc in their own seal, gasket and bearing factory.. they just bag a good aftermarket in a toyota snappy and say it's XYZ part number..
