    Default Chinese Characters for names

Hi, just something that annoyed me today.

I noticed somebody has a username of 漂流の技術者. I can't read that and have no way of pronouncing it. I thought toymods was an australian based club?

    Cheers, Jake.

I agree, it could be confusing but that might be how they spell their name etc...and want it to be displayed

Hehe and since he is into drifting and his previous name on the old forums Drift technician its probably pretty fitting.

Regardless of what the club is.. I still can't read it. If i wanted Japanese i would hang out on yahoo japan or bukkakemods or something like that.

thats fair enough, but you have to remember that dorifto kiddies seem to feel a stronger bond to the japanese car culture, and who knows, maybe he is japanese...

i think people should be able to have their name as whatever they want, but they must realise that they may be labelled "that guy with a chinese character name"..

seriously tho, the idea of a "drift technician" is pretty funny to me, so i'm happy to just laugh it off

if you have a real problem with it, raise it with the board, so they can consider the implications of having non-english names on the forum.

honestly i really couldnt care what people call themselves... especially on this new forum because of the reputation system... therefore regardless of the name, if the person has a good rep then all is good for me

there is the obvious that if you want to talk to someone in particular then you wont know their name and stuff, but thats pretty minor...

I personaly don't see a problem with how his name is written.
No one on the forums use their real name in their forum name (or not many) anyway.
All this guys post are writen in english, not in Japenese. If he starts making comments in Japenese then this might become an issue but untill then I don't see any problem.
If it feels good "DO IT" Unless it harms others.(or upsets the RTA)
