    Default 18R-G with Straight LPG?

Hi guys. I'm about to throw myself head first into the deep end purchasing my first 18R-G for my Toyota Stout project.

For a while I was researching a 22R & Turbo with straight LPG. A few 4x4 guys have done it with great success.

Here is Got-propane from the States. I don't think a whole kit would have to be purchased, just the parts needed.

Now seeing that the 18r-g only came with side drafts, the 18R-GEU EFI plenum would have to be used with a adapter plate to mount the LPG carburetor in place where the throttle body would go. Thats how its done on the 22RE engines anyway.

Would this work? or would it be better just to stick with the side drafts?

Seeing that running straight LPG you could run safely higher compression pistons with the beefed up coil and Electronic distributor from a 18R? (I'm still schooling myself on these engines)
Simplicity would be kept like a carburetor setup without the cost/hassle of a full blown EFI system. When the Stout is sticking to the "simple" principal, basically bare bones.

Basically I want a mild relaible daily driver (210/230 cams, rebuilt bottom and top end with new higher compression pistons/rings etc and rebuild head with stainless valves new guides)

    Thoughts?

Just stick with the 20R and 22R stuff for that project. leave the 18RG together and play with that other engine. Just because you image it does not always mean it is a good idea. But if you have the parts and the funds then build what you really like or want, just remember that parts are getting rare for the 18RG and that now the guys here in the US have to purchase parts for your supply and the few outlets from japan in order to keep our engines running. The LPG was available on the 16R and 18R models that I saw in Japan for use in most of the Taxis and commercial vehicles. That Stout deserves a good heart, just make sure it has one with an available supply of parts.. That Stout is not a Taxi, it is to cool for all of that
