Hi guys,
I'm having trouble changing the rear engine mount on my AE92, as it's completely perished.
I've followed my trusty Haynes repair manual, which suggests jacking the engine/gearbox up, and then "simply" removing the rear mount. However, even with the box/engine jacked up and the mount bolt + nuts removed, I can't move the mount enough to remove it. I.E., it fouls on the bottom of the power steering rack.
Effectively I need another 15mm vertically to get the mount out. I've tried all sorts, and spent a good 3 hours trying wiggle/bash the it out to no avail. The only way I can see to change it with the engine still in the car, is to drop the front sub-frame, which I really don't want to do.
Has anyone got any suggestions? Because I'm completely stumped.
Cheers,
Cam.
Yea subframe dropped at the rear end, loosen the exhaust as well, it's a prick of a job, I put mine off until I sold the car![]()
