Yeah, thats the way a lot of people do it.
You just have to make sure the spring cant become un-captive on full droop.
Whats the done thing to get some height adjustment in the rear end of these little beauties. Im looking at ordering the t3 adj link setup in the near future, i vaguely remember some sort of threaded sleeve welded onto a tube on the diff, has anybody done this and come into problems etc

Would be nice to put something full coilover type in there was just curious if anyones achived this yet without going full sheepers on the body
the best way is to cut out the spring turret from the chassis and weld in the adjustable spring seat in it's place. Then you can run 65mm ID springs in the back of the car which opens up many options regarding spring rates, heights, etc. This is what has been done in my TA22 track car.
SHEPPO..
Its looking like thats what ill do. I took some measurements today and the t3 ae86 coilover that replaces the rear shock wont fit without making heaps more room and the panard rod would foul id have to move mounts inwards or the spring will hit rim.
cheers for the advice guys, now I just gotta find some steel sleeves most of them seem to be alloy
I adapted the ajps kit to the rear of my car

Yep best looking kit ive seen so far, gunna order their weld in front kit so I can run 65 id springs
Ok. I used their rear sprinter kit. Adjustable perches in factory location. Factory position shocks

Same result really the sprinter kit would look neater for sure was it piece of piss to put in an ra rear. I spose youd have to drill out the bump stoo mount either way and weld in a threaded nut
Pagie if you can't find steel sleeves look into interference joins, a thread on adjustable front coil overs covers it, sounds like a good thing, not sure if it's roadworthy or not.
All good there the ajps kits are steel sleve. But thanks anyway. As for roadworthyness Im a bit sceptical on most of the rest of the car anyway
Turns out sleeks spares do a kit. Steel sleeves with springs etc for $300
Edit: and ajps got back to me $360 for the kit

Use steel sleeves if you plan on track work. When u go into gravel traps the stones fly up everywhere and damage soft parts, especially the fine thread on a coil over. Just my opinion.
SHEPPO..
Yeah I got steel ones welded them on there last week, qualitys a bit shit though damaged one of the threads somehow already. Shouldnt have been impatient and got the ajps ones instead they were only $60 more with springs
