I'm pretty sure the UZS131 Crown uses that exact sensor.
Hi, the speedo sender in my Century has a dodgy earth (worked on and off - now off!) Has anyone who has owned/wrecked one got a spare?! Long shot I know.
Have tried a similar unit from a early 90s Cressida with no joy.
Does anyone have thoughts on whether a Crown Royal with the digital speedo display could use something that would work despite the obviously different transmission. With the dual aircon and fridge unit etc, I thought there might be some possiblility of a win.
Any help appreciated, new to all this.IMAG0018.jpgIMAG0019.jpgIMAG0021.jpg
I'm pretty sure the UZS131 Crown uses that exact sensor.

Thanks very much! Unless anyone reading this has one, I will get on the phone. Cheers!
They are a 20 pulse sensor
I know u can get an aftermarket 16 pulse sensor
But I've never found an aftermarket 20 pulse one
As a last resort u can use a 16 pulse then fit a speedo correction box
To make the speedo accurate again
I hope I'm looking in the right spot, but here goes.
Toyodiy brings up two versions of the speed sensor for VG40 Century (both floor and column shift use them):
89411-22060 (09/1987 - 11/1988)
89411-22061 (12/1988 - 11/1992)
Apparently there's a rotor that sits on top of it as well? Could be this that's worn and needs replacing?
89414-30020 (09/1987 - 11/1988)
89414-30021 (12/1988 - 11/1992)
Cross referencing the earlier part (sensor and rotor), they are used on:

Thanks for your help guys. Mine is right on the changeover date!
Let you know how I go. Much appreciated.
You wouldn't happen to know the whereabouts of such an item?
I just had a look in my junk bin and I got one of an old crown
the plug is only an inch away from the sensor and going by yr pics yrs might be longer
anyway 50 bucks for the sensor without the drive pin
or 60 bucks for sensor with a brand new drive pin
Is there any chance you could post a pic?
ill get a pic this arvo as I have to drop off kids at school then go to work
No worries, I know that routine...

is this ok
I guess it's just a case of adapting the cables to join with a new connector - otherwise it looks fine. Gotta be worth a shot. How shall we sort it?
ill just COD it if u want
