hi guys I was speaking to my dads friend and he said the original engine in my gt the 2tg can be tuned to produce allot of power also I was just looking at the 3sgte engine is this engine more powerful than the 4tgte and the 3tgte??? also does the 3sgte engine fit straight into the celica and is the engine capable of being modified to like 400 to 500 bhp to be used on the street?? what do you guys think of this engine and do you think its more powerful than the 2tg engine??

The 3SGTE is an older turbo version of the BEAMS engine, so generally anything about fitting a BEAMS will apply to a 3SGTE. With the exception that with turbo running gear you are going to consume a lot more engine bay space than the 200HP NA variant.

3SGTE never came in a north/south RWD layout though, so you will need to convert it to RWD format first and find a suitable gearbox. BEAMS came in the Altezza in RWD though but the RWD running gear wouldn't be suitable for long term turbo applications.

If you want a high powered turbo car, just get a 1JZGTE, since they came in a RWD format will make things much simpler.

ok... I really love blind motivation (hell, my introduction to Toyota was the Veilside Supra, and now my car looks not too different), and umar66 seems keen - but honestly, can I call it out and say that most of us have seen him as a troll, and we just ban him?

When he gives us some pics of his GT celica and/or correspondence with his engineer(s), we can all get in and help him out.

I think we would all love to see a 2jz-gte RA25 4wd monster.... but we also all know that is not going to happen.

I don't see why a troll would keep going and asking specific questions regarding 2T's and 3S's, more like he just has no clue and is getting 3rd hand information regularly. Combine with late teens/early 20's where disposable income is running rampant, is it really that unbelievable?

Agreed though he should cough up some pics of his TA23 GT. I don't particularly care if its a GT or not either.

The easy solution is for Umar to give me all of the excess money he has mentioned. I will organise building the uber yota and he can concentrate on his day job as a student.

I know how to post photos and will even throw in making a build thread for him. I'm a solutions kinda guy.

I generally don't mind feeding the troll. If I can pat it on the head and throw moldy bones in at regular intervals, it's like a trip to the zoo.

ok guys I will get some piks up for you and I don't want to convert my celica to awd because you have to butcher the car and I do not want to do that and I aint no troll and if you don't want to help that's your decision im only asking because u all have the knowledge of celicas I don't but if you want to ignore I don't mind I am sure I will find someone who will help , also im just getting information on whats the best engine to fit I ask you guys because you have done all the conversions I am new to doing a conversion this is my first celica even thou my dad had loads of them. I just want to do something that will drive nice and will be quick , I want my car to be tidy and neat. Im just still in the process of choosing which engine to use. I really like this 3sgte engine , the way it responds, drives it is a cool engine. would the w58 supra hook up to this engine??

wa5 in my family we all have got fast cars, my uncle owns a supra single turbo 515bhp, my other uncle owns a nissan 300zx 400bhp, I once drove a 700bhp mazda rx7 which was crazy. allot of my cousins have subarus and evos. I just love the celica just want to do something nice to it

As a first step you could just put the 3sgte rocker cover on the T engine - no-one will know any better and you'll still look like you have at least 80 horsepower at the rear-spheres if you only ever drive it on wet grass.

A lot of people in Aus use the 4 litre ford falcon engine with a unique sequential tri-turbo setup consisting of a CT9 turbo which feeds a Disco Potato, which then in turn feeds a T51R - the only downside is you need an 18 inch diff (custom made from two 9 inchers) to handle the torque and 3 top of the line boost nipples to control the pressure between the turbos - otherwise the pressure is so great it will shoot the ct9 clean off the piping and through the bonnet.
