    Default 2L out 3L in?

    Hey guys,

Probably sounds like a dumb question but can I replace a 2L with a 3L?
I have a LN56 and the boyfriend has a LN105. He keeps suggesting that I use the 3L out of his and just put it in mine while I send my motor off to be rebuilt. But I am quite sure that it cant be as easy as that...can it?

Cheers in advance for any responses.

I don't see why not as long as the mounts and sup etc are the same .
Park the two side by side and have a good look to see what might be different.
There should be no reason why it won't bolt in as long as exhaust, wiring, hoses etc are the same or close then it could be done

Might be a stupid question but why change motors only to have to change them back again instead of just using his vehicle while yours has the motor out being done?

Would save a lot of work if you could

Alternator is different, external reg compared to internal, exhaust manifold is different, a/c is different, power steer is different, air intake is different, glow plug circuit is different voltage. Nothing major to overcome, but a bit of work if only to swap back again.

I cant use the LN105 as it is/was a project and still a little way from being roadworthy. I've taken the LN56 to the local engine place this morning and they are going to price me a reco motor, its done the bottom end bearing. So even if I pinch the 3L then his will need a replacement. I'm not 100% but I'd imagine a 3L is a little more expensive than a 2L.
I only bought this thing 8 weeks ago, had to replace my RN85 as it didn't do too well when she went up against a 6' Kangaroo.

Thanks again people. I'll wait to hear from the engine place and see how the funds are doing before I decide what I'm going to do.
