    thats for sure! ive seen crap elcheapo ones that are 3inch in and outlets and 2.5inch threw the CAT!lol
    there are very good ones and very crap ones! pays to chech them out before they put them on.

    The cat is out after grinding off the rusted nuts.

    The holes in the ceramic honeycomb are tiny and there must be thousands of them. At first sight it looks like gauze but closer inspection reveals the holes run deep into the cat.

    Holding up to the sunlight you can see through the holes but you can also see that about 1 in 10 holes are blocked.

    I have blasted it out with compressed air in both direction a few times and now it is a little clearer. Lots if fine dust came out and so I hope its now a little less restrictive.

    BTW is the inlet and outlet diameter the inside diameter of the hole or the outside diamater of the attached pipe??

    Both inlet and outlet are 2 1/2 inch inside diameter of the hole.

    yes, they are about 1mm holes and they run all the way thru.. the length of the honeycomb may only be about 3-5" tho

    there was a nice pic somewhere around...

    if you can still see through it, it is probably ok.
