The AFM can be disassembled and the IAT sensor pulled out.
You will need to cut the silicon seal that holds the plastic lid on and prize it out with a small screw driver.
From memory: You will also need to remove the wiper arm from the flap, the clock spring (that holds the flap closed and has a preset tension) and the circuit board. So make a good durable mark that shows the position of the clock spring before you take it apart, otherwise you'll have a hell of a time getting the thing sorted.
It's been ages since I had an AFM apart, but I'm pretty sure the IAT sensor's wires are soldered onto the main plug's pins, so you'll have to de-solder them and resolder the new(er) ones.
Reseal the lid with just about any silicon sealant.
Failing all of that, just get a good second hand AFM.
