Default ra28 and ta22 doors are they the same??

May have made an oopsie and got the wrong door, pulled it out my stash and went yeah thatll do without trying it on. About 15 hours of welding grinding and rust repair later discovered it sits out at the sill by nearly an inch, apart from that looks perfect can anyone confirm this as a difference. It has no intrusion bars in it so its an early one

15 hours of welding and grinding, will have generated a lot of heat possibly warping the door. Attach door to car adjust door hinges as close as possible then get your biggest mate to lever the beejeezus out of the door to get the thing into position. I got caught like that many years ago, got a door that looked the biz painted it up with the rest of the car, then when I re assembled the car we found the door had a huge woof in it. Many many hours of huffing and puffing finally got it within a mm. A large length of 4x2 timber in the door can aid in bending the sucker to where it needs to be.

    cheers Chuck.

did you take the door catch off the ''A" pillar ?, cos if they go back on arse about , it makes the door stick out at the bottom

ian, "B" pillar if you are talking about the door striker. I always hang doors without the striker in place, get the alignment correct, then install the striker, as the temptation is there to let the striker support the door in a the vertical plane, which is not what we need to be doing.

As I said the door may have been stuffed before you got to it.

Before you pull the door off, slacken off the bolts on the top door hinge, and pull the top of the door out, that should close the gap at the bottom.

    cheers Chuck.
