1G GTE Knock Sensor Help

Hey guys, Ive been trying to source 2 knock sensors for my 1G and have come accross many conflicting reports of what will work. Some say the 7M equipped with either afm or map based ecu knock sensors will work, others say not. Ive heard of the 4AG knock sensor from 1988 supercharged MR2's working as well. The knock sensors that I have which broke are square style plug with the number 76153 stamped on it.

I was looking at purchasing these KS80 sensors but was just wondering if anyone could shed some light.

Yes the 7M-GE Knock sensors are the same as 1G-GTE.



A few thing you can look out for once you have fitted your new sensor

When the motor runs above 2200RPM error code 52 will be reported if the sensors are not working and engine will go into limp mode.

When the sensors detect a ping event the factory ECU retards the timing up to 15 degrees and this is held some time after the ping event.

Excelent thanks! You wouldnt happen to have a toyota part number for the 7MGE sensor would you? So far what Ive found is the GE sensor is the round connector and the GTE is the square style I need
