U140F trans issues

I posted this earlier in the conversions section by accident. hoping someone can help me here instead-


I have a 2003 Caldina with the tiptronic U140F auto trans in it.

im having some issues when in tiptronic/manual mode, especially in 3rd for some reason.

If I accelerate from standstill I get a clean takeoff, good shift to second and power down all the way, but when it goes into third I get a bit of power and revs climbing, and then it seems to go into overdrive (even when my foot is flat to the floor). It then wont come out of O/D and accelaration when driving in third is sluggish. 4th gear is not a problem though.

Is that normal? Is there anything i can do to stop it happening or fix it?

Can't shed much light on this issue but the transmission itself is used in RAV4's and from memory some lexus rx's. Have a look on the american rav4 forums and see if you can find some info there.

Other thing i might suggest is a full transmission fluid flush and fill (including new filter)
