anyways, running it as a catch first is a good idea to see how much moisture will be caught.. if you are catching emulsified oil, then you don't want it going back to the sump...
at worst, if you leave it as a catch, then you can pour good oil back in if it collects.
it is also better (emissiosn wise) if the vent of the catch can (it should really be called oil/air seperator) be routed back to the intake tract, as is the case with the rocker cover breather in a stock setup...
