Default Need part number? or name of part? 5me engine :(

Hey guys, so as some of you may know i recently purchased a ma61 supra. has a crappy 5me auto!... anyway its been a bit of a battle to get it to roadworthy spec. turns out we had a blown head gasket!... now after taking off the head (first time ever) we found we needed to replace this VVVVVVVVV but i dont know wtf its called, or the part number OR where to get it from? someone mentioned toyota genuine parts?

anyway if someone could identify this please it would be a huge help!

    its cracked and chipped

    thats the timng chain tensioner.

I have never seen that happen before. You should replace the chain as well, better sill get a price on the timming chain kit.

You may yet find that it will be cheaper to just replace the engine.

Mate of mine has one with a lot more wear than that. It is a pretty tight squeeze to get it out without taking the front cover off. He cannnot be bothered replacing it . Yours looks pretty good

I would personnally change it, you dont really want to risk the chain getting damaged. From memory 5ME is an interference motor.

That is one of the much better condition M series timing chain tensioner idle gears that I've seen! As said I wouldn't bother replacing it.

    My thoughts.
