Nope, Stock 7M-GTE's ran an R154 with a pull clutch.
I've been running a stock 2JZ-GE clutch behind a 220rwkw 1JZ-GTE w/W58 with no trouble.
Not sure if the 2JZ-GE pressure plate is a high clamp unit than the 7M-GE, but might be worth a look...
I have a 91 cressida with the original 7mge,it has been rebuilt and turbo'd
With a w58 5 spd conversion my problem is any 7mge clutch kit isnt rated
At enough hp for my engine will a 7mgte kit work are they the same any help

Pressure plates are the same;
Just get an organic heavy duty clutch kit, as above, 7MGTE uses a pull clutch so no good.
I'm running a cushioned button 2JZGE and the clamping force was good enough to destroy my gearbox rather than slip the clutch. 580Nm 7MGTE
