Default a340E aristo trans limp mode?

Mx83 running a 2jzge non-vvti with an aristo automatic. Im running my 7M transmission speed sensor in place of the aristo one in order for the speedometer to function. However, the issue im having is the transmission is in limp mode. When the selector is placed in Drive, the car doesn't want to move because looks like its stuck in 3rd gear. Only way to get the car moving is to shift manually from L to 2 to D. Once in D, it shifts automatically from 3rd to 4th the way it should. any opinions? I hear that the trans uses electric inputs to shift and without the aristo speed sensor, it will run in limp mode. Ideas? Is it possible to trick the ECU into thinking its in Drive and take off in 1st?
    thanks guys

also since im running the 7m sensor, the plug that would normally plug into the aristo sensor is not plugged in.
