The next hill climb should be a good one. Some high profile drivers are romoured to be there, potential including 3 generations of the Bates family.

SDMA Hillclimb: 47.03 - Class record holder for Type 3 2001-3000cc
In the process of swapping the running gear out of the AE86 into the KE70. Won't be finished I don't think so I might have to take the RS for a run.
Since there is only every going to be one Centenary of Canberra hill climb, I'm in !! Just not sure what I am going to use for tyres --- the rock hard Federals I used last time where definitly not conducive to grip. Any one got some Medium 205/50/15 semi slicks for sale ? Preferably with some tread and not cooked to the hardness of a diamond and CHEAP !!!!! Yeah I know buckleys and none . Arrh !!!!! well bolt on the Go Pro and see what flora and fauna I can capture , this time.
Ok all paid up will be running the RS. Bob see how you go, we might be able to strike a deal where you borrow the wheels from the 70 (RSR's) for the day
Thanks For the offer Paul , but RSR's do not seem to work well on my car ..... Something to do with my set up , driving style ( or lack there-of ) and weight distribution . But I seem to kill them real quick , do not want to wreck a good set of roadies.

Lots of toyota's at the next SDMA hillclimb.
Sure is .... Corolla's ..... Celica.....FT86's.....AE86's . And to have Neil Bates and his son in my class is fantastic. In a AE86 to boot. I am so gunna get toasted , but going to have such a fantastic time running against and watching them in action. This is going to be a top event . If you are not running stick your hand up to be a flagie , with all these cool cars and some of the best drivers on show , the flagie spots will be the best spectator spots on the day.
BUGGER !!!!!!!!!1 It's all bad info --- Neil will be running with his two boys --- but not in a AE86 ???? Was really looking foward to seeing that. But he will either be in the GT4 Celica or his Modded GTS FT86. OR THEY WILL BE RUNNING BOTH.

57 ENTRIES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Been a while since we have seen a field this big . A lot of very interesting entries !!
I just hope the day runs smoothly, I get that they need to get minimum numbers to make it viable but too many cars and we will only get a couple of runs each. I guess we will find out on Sunday. See you there Bob.
The max number is 60 --- and that is all that they could cope with . We are suppose to get at 4 runs , maybe 5 if we are lucky. But any kangaroos and off track excursions would slow the proceedings . I will have to try and behave myself and be very compossed when the green light comes on. The weather looks like it may be kind , may even be a we dram on the warm side. I have gone all out for this one ----- cars has had a service , string, jack stand and ruler wheel alignment - tightned the odd bolt ( actually found quite a few a bit loose ) nothing to important -- steering wheel etc etc . Even purchased two newish rear tyres ( they look like they have been in the warehouse on the rack for a long long time ) But beggers can not be choosers as they say.
WHAT A FANTASTIC DAY ---- So many cool cars and a host of different faces behind the wheel . Open wheeler where epic !!!!!
I fitted a new set of green federal semi slicks to the back , may not have been one of my better moves from a fast time point of view. They seem to be a bit lacking in the grip department. After two runs I gave up on them and fitted a pair of very old Dunlops and there was a lot more grip !!!!!! Well a bit more grip
1st two vids on the Federals and the 3rd on yke old dunlops --------------

Well Bob, a review of the video's would indicate that I probably wasn't driving too badly but the tyres and suspension on the RS were just not cutting it. It really has given me the motivation to get the stuff swapped into the KE70 as quickly as possible.
