you should have the engine on TDC as well. it will make it alot easier to get it back together.....
Hello,
Wondering if anyone can give me a bit of a walk thru in changing the CAS to block gasket and the inner seal of the CAS ( Map 4agze ).
Basically does the engine need to be TDC to remove CAS and so on? Anyhelp much appreciated.
Cheers
Tyrone.

Changine the inner seal (and bearing while you're at it) is a little bit harder, it requires you to drill out the rivet/stake (?) that holds the gear on the end of the shaft, and pulling out the shaft. The bearing & seal pop out & are replaced like any other bearing & seal (not that hard) then put it all back together, & the fun bit is finding something to replace the bit you drilled out.
I was able to get my hands on some solid Al rivets of varying size & length, one of which was a perfect fit.
Install CAS/dizzy back into head, & wait about 2-3 weeks before the bastard starts leaking again!!!![]()
