You'll be needing at least 0.060" clearance as well.
Hi
In the process of assembling my new engine. It is a 1GG with a HKS (2GG) head. The HKS head has 1mm bigger inlet valves and the HKS cams provide increased lift. Have checked the clearance - assembled engine with modeling clay on top of the piston and rotated everything - unfortunately I have only 25 thou clearance with the inlets, exhaust are all ok. Reference indicates that I should be aiming at 100thou, approx 2.5mm.
After advice on who in the ACT I could entrust the pistons to. Has anyone have experience with anyone.
Cheers Craig

He's shifted house recently, I'm not sure of his new address but you should be able to contact him through his web site.

Thanks. Managed to find his mobile number. He closed his business some years ago and now only does some work at home and restricts himself to Lotus cars.
Cheers Craig
Craig, give Batesy a call, I am sure his engine machinist could fly cut those pistons, for you. Steve Millar has a piston jig that may be suitable for locating the pistons in a milling machine.
The alternative is to close and hone the big ends of the conrods. This will effectively shorten the rods.
cheers Chuck.
