Default Rpm limit of 2a engine?

Ok so I finally did it. I brought a 2a engine!

There is zero information out there for them so have a few questions:
    1) safe maximum rpm for the rods and crank?
    2) which g head. It comes with both a big and small port but was thinking blacktop.
    3) can you run vvt with carbs?
    4) do all 4age gearboxes fit the 2age block??

    Cheers

No such thing as a "2AGE", I'm guessing you're looking at building some kind of hybrid out of a 2AC block and 4AGE head?

1 - Don't know. If the crank is as good it should be okay for 9,000 - 10,000 rpm.
2 - Definitely the small port.
    3 - Yes.
    4 - Yes.

Thank you so much Billzilla, may i just add your website is amazing. I am a big fan!

I have always wanted a little 2age, not 100% sure why but got the whole engine for $80nz and it had just been reconditioned with modified pistons.

By any chance you would happen to know how I would work out the compression ratio with a small port head?

If you bore the 2A right out from 76mm to 81mm then it will have 1471cc, or 1.5L. If they are identical to later 4A blocks bar the bore size which I would expect then it will be no problem. If you have a 4A block handy then use that with your existing 2A crank.

When you say modified pistons, are they 76 or 81mm? If they are 76mm then you better check that there are no issues with the smaller bore matching the head.

I thought you might of wanted a 1.3L 4age for class regs
