    Default 1uz-fe power steering pump

I have a 1uz in a 93 2wd hilux. I've had it on the road over 2yrs now and my power steering pump is getting noisy, it doesn't leak but I'm pretty sure the grinding noises are terminal, I have a 2nd hand pump here that is slightly different, it has a vacuum port type fitting which I think adjusts the percentage of pump output under varying rpms and vacuum, my question is can I just block that off? Has anybody had experience with blocking this off? Does it affect any operation? Thanks MICK.

it's for raising idle rpm in low speed conditions like parking etc. Has nothing to do with the power steering itself.

Thanks mate, I recoed that 2nd hand pump and fitted it yesterday with the blocked off valve, all is good. When I stripped my orig pump, turned out to be just the front sealed bearing, but ya gotta strip it to find that so....now I got a spare.
