Default Question for the webmasters - Prototyping area

    Hi,

I have more 2TG info I would like to dump onto the forums. However, as there is a 10 image limit, and it takes me time to get my scans and info into the posts, I fear that people may jump in between posts. Also, when done I'd like to proof read it and check it before putting it in the mainstream Technical Area of these forums.

So, is there a method or a way I can do this in a prototyping area so all the info is there and the thread(s) are completed before going into mainstream. If so, once done I can notify the appropriate admin/mod who can check it and allow it to go mainstream.

This will not only help me get the thread(s) completed, but also will provide a clean thread that Karl (or whoever) doesn't have to spend time removing unwanted posts.

For starters, I'd like to take my existing 2TG thread and clean it up and add to it. Furthermore, I have other scintillating and exciting technical information I can add.

I'm sure there are a few of us who can contribute greatly to the technical area of these forums and do it in a manner that releives the workload and burden away from the mods/admin.

Is this a good idea? Is it possible?

You could start a thread and Immediatly post several replies up to the number of post that you will need to post all you photos and then populate the posts?

    Hi,

Yes, that's an idea. A little cumbersome, but effective and simple to do.

Yes it is but I've seen guys do it in their rides threads to keep all the photos at the top.

I'm pretty sure what you are asking could be done with this software as I've seena few tools that could potentially do it.... Other wise you could write it all up in word with the correct [IMG] code and copy and paste is in quick succession at 4am in the morning

    really? i didnt notice it

but then again its not often that people do large posts such as rivers etc. i usually just open multiple tabs in firefox and submit them as i go when i'm done.

oh, ALT+S is good for posting quickly if you dont want to use the mouse

good idea river.... and in a way this will be implemented with the changes i've proposed for the FAQ section.

The idea is to make the FAQ section have "moderated posts", meaning that if you post a new thread or a reply to a thread - that post goes to a moderating queue and your friendly tech mods then approve/modify/reject your post to go public

So if you start a thread like this, tell me about it straight away so i can approve it, then you can make your replies and they'll go to the moderating queue - without the BS posts in between

This also means that adding to an existing thread in the FAQ section is possible without a moderator having to do it for you
    ...... butt scratcher?!
