    Default Low Pressure (Lift) Pump

Everybody it seems sells surge tanks and efi pumps but there is never any mention of a pump to fill the surge tank.
What are the popular choices for a lift pump?
Also would a Bosch 044 type efi pump be OK to use as a lift pump?

you would be best off going with a high volume low pressure pump like a Carter black pump ........ only issue i see with using a high volume high pressure pump is you will heat the fuel a fair amount ............ it does work with high pressure pumps dont get me wrong but you dont really want hot fuel in your engine from the 2 high pressure pumps pumping

Ive just used the orig pump to act as a lift pump and put my second pump after it as long as you have a decent fuel return line it works great

    i have a facet pump...a little noisey.
but as far as a vl pump as lift. would 1. as mentioned get hot.
    2. main thing is, what if tank low and pump coninually does not pick up fuel, maybe no baffles in tank.
this would damage the pump over time.
Also they push not suck fuel, i think/ Another reason for damage.
    just my thoughts.

Factory VL fuel system is the small lift pump in the tank feeding the external high pressure pump.
Majority of EFI pumps will not self prime or suck fuck (yeah yeah pumps dont suck)
