I drive a KE70 as a daily, with a stock 4K in it, I am running about 20 deg timing but no other mods, it is 5 speed and i thrash it every where and it still returns 550 to 700 kms out of a tank, so I would be checking the carby, and putting some more timing into it, no way should it be even classed as heavey on fuel.
    Cheers

Wow, that's at least 50% and almost
100 % more mileage than mine.

What's the capacity of the KE70's tank
    - 40 liters ? At 9 to 10 km per liter, I'm
gettting about 350 to 400 km a tank.

My usual timing is also about 20 degrees.

my stock ke70 record for a full tank was 550km (no idea what size the fuel tank is exactly)

my old 5k ke70 with 32/36 on it, the best I got was 470km for a full tank. It was a torque monster compared to the 4k though. Munched a gearbox

    1 Imperial gallon = about 1.20 US gallons = 4.54 litres

(An easy guide is the external fuel tank carried

This tank = 600 US gallons = 500 Imp. gallons.

Thus one Imperial gallon is 6/5 of the US gallon.)

    26 mpg = approx. 11 litres/100 km, or 9 km/litre.

    28 mpg = approx. 10 litres/100 km, or 10 km/litre.

    20 mpg = approx. 14 litres/100 km, or 7 km/litre.

    wicked, thanks for the conversion!

i was looking at reviews of the Celsior, i was interested in its fuel economy, but every review was in mpg.

i have to say, 10l/100, or 28mpg sounds about right.

maybe they guzzle compared to all the smaller bodied cars ive seen pottering around in asian countries? because over here, thats good fuel economy!

just for reference, my MA70 Supra uses around 18-20 Litres per hundred!

18-20 is farkin shiteful!!! thats worse than 4WD's... then again, if you have a heacy right foot, it can easily double the fuel usage what about when driving "nicely"??

get timing light. hook up red clip to battery positive,
hook up black clip to battery begative

hook up funny clip thing to cylinder 1 ignition lead.

then pull trigger (light only flashes when trigger is pulled) and point at the timing marks on the crank pulley

never looked at mates 4K in detail before we ripped it out and stuck a 4A in, but im assuming its timing gear is similar to the 2T i had...

look on your engine, at the distributer cap.

just under the cap, theres a bolt, sticking through a semi circle shaped slit in the dizzy housing.

now, to adjust timing, you loosen that nut, and swing the dizzy one way, or the other.

swinging it one way, will retard it, the other, will advance it.

im not sure which way is which though.

also, dont be concerned about blowing the engine up, they're pretty bomb proof, just mark where you started, so if you bollocks things up, you can return it to the way it was

well, 3.0 litre, plus turbo + 10psi = shite fuel economy!

i did some long highway driving today, and im VERY proud to say that i did 160km's on 15 litres.

how, i dont know, but i filled the tank back up at the servo, back to full, just to make sure, and only 14.5 litres would fit!

    i was stoked!

geez.. well i don't wanna keep you in suspense then

you're wrong, you're an idiot.. and you have a very heavy foot

so you still get reasonable economy if needed (10km/L is what i'd call acceptable from a car capable of performance).... and you only have heavy shoes to blame for your 18-20L/100km

same with thirsty small motors in the city of 50m sprints.... Sydney
and also Sapporo there are literally lights every 50m... so economy in the city can REALLY suck.. esp in winter.

17 psi here, and I used less than 2 1/2 tanks to dubbo and back (including a full days drag racing).
Thats like 1000km + drags on ~130 litres
