    Default Cusco LSD transaxle oil

    Hey all,
so have a Cusco 2-way in a transaxle (FWD). Looking at their oils they list a 75W85 for them.
Reckon it will be ok to run something like a Castrol LSD oil/Penrite or similar or should I stick with the manufacturers own?
If i should stick with the cusco oils, anyone know of a dealer in Aus, preferably Melbourne?

    Cheers,
    Stu

the cusco is basically the same as a kaaz. in my mr2 I originally ran the kaaz oil to run it in & then switched to redline.

I also found that "spirited" driving tended to cook the oil - resulting in regular oil changes needed.

fyi the redline also made the lsd very aggressive, I ended up putting a friction modifyer (martini) in the oil as well to tone it down (which imporved the shifting as well mind you)

wont fricition modifiers shorten the life of syncro rings?
thats what i thought, as they slipped more therefore more heat and wear?

I've heard bad things about redline and royal purple. Any ideas if these are actually founded or just net-type rumours? Considering the car's you've built and run T i actually trust your opinion
