Hey Garth, how good is that log
LOL and you guys only have to put up with him for one night![]()

how confused are people that weren't there?
ps: roundy - your dad rocks![]()
Yeah good times; at least it wasn't me that was the drunkest there this time.
Bonus: me in Greg's supra - yes i throw it off, and there's a few skids too;

Vito, session in the 86 still to be uploaded.
Also, new PB.1:16.19; really kind of annoyed i couldn't get it down to the 15s, was confident after running that 16.19 on the first (or second?) flyer of my second session. Got a few laps between that and the old PB of 1:16.43 though. Was really surprised to run down to 1:16.7 twice in my first warm up without pushing; thinking i killed the tyres soon after, they were on their last legs anyway. Or i just got more shit as the day went on, but that's not usually the case.

poor supra struggling for traction, thats still on the buggered old turbo yeah?
i reckon there had to have been some oil on the track somewhere, as i had it sprayed all underneath the car and rear bumper. the other garth and i went over my car with a fine tooth comb looking for leaks and saw none...
either that or the oil job that <insert car here> did right at the pit entry to the track got oil all over...
N/A for life...
Looks like i missed a good day![]()
Question: How where you guys timing your cars, did they have timers avalible? or where you using something aftermarket?
I'll be down at the next one fore sure, maybe even with a little more power fingers crossed
Cheers,
Owen
These days dont have natsoft or whatever running, as they wont let us run passengers if we do that. As a result, timing is left up to you. I have previously used racechrono on a phone linked to a GPS dongle, garth and a couple others use an infrared beacon style lap timer, others use stopwatches, whatever works really.....
Yep, still borked (and gradually degrading between each day it comes out) turbo; doesn't make boost in any hurry and generally not until almost 5k rpm. It's not oil or dodgy track surface getting me in that video, just my right foot vs semi slicks, whereas it's been on slicks the last few times i've driven it. The cold tyres caught me out the first time up the hill out of two, and i was testing traction onto the back straight the first lap and expected more, but everything after that was not entirely unintentional. The snap-then-tuck 2nd gear bits out of the fishhook were me trying to put power down, if i held it for a sec it was deliberate.
The lose was me trail braking over the hop into turn 5, knowing full well i shouldn't and probably accidently reverting back to expecting slick levels of grip for a moment, so locking rears, but was back on the power trying to drive out when it dived off. It was actually probably the transfer from locked to power that caught me but it didn't go where i was expecting it to. Maybe i should've used more throttle to make sure it spun the rears up properly.
Anybody know what car dumped all the oil in the pitlane?
Cutters, yep BYO timing; cheapest is probably racechrono (as long as you're not on an iphone) or a similar app plus a bluetooth gps receiver, or IR beacon systems are the other option. I'm actually using both concurrently at the moment, because i'm using the racechrono to analyse afterwards, and the IR mounted on the dash to insta-rage every lap when not getting faster all day.

they're not even semi slicks, just regular road tyres
how shit is it driving on street tyres when you are used to the epicness of rcompsit's just frustrating, GIMME GRIP!!!
Haha, so there you go i was expecting semis levels of grip. Explains the wandering under brakes and occasional lack of slowing down when leaning on it and getting them hot. Will update the info accordingly.
What road tyres? They did ok actually, considering!

But the important question is "Who was the drunkest" if not Garth? Vito has to be a candidate...
