    Default mx83 1jz power issues

    hi guys
so was driving my 91 mx83 cressida last night with a 1jzgte in it.
driving along the highway when i lost everything. power to acc and ign went but engine was still on but gearbox had dropped out and was just revving out. pulled over and turned car off. haesnt started since. checked battery and fuses under bonnet and replaced them all. have interior lights, headlights and hazards, but have no dash lights or anything. nothing off the key so no acc or ign and engine wont crank or anything.

suggestions on what the sh*t is going on ?

    cheers, Sam

people have said fusible links but i replaced all fuses. replaced the AM1, AM2, ALT and CDS Fan. which is apparently the common ones to go and are the only ones under the engine bay that and relays.

I'm too lazy to go look at mine but fusible links are normally wire based, they look the same fucked as they they do when they work.
Could be wrong, they might have changed to the big chunky plug in jobbies

See if your getting power upto the ignition switch?

Yeah that's the next step. I'm just hoping to god it's not ecu. I have been having dramas with big end bearing on its way out. Any chance that the computer has shut it all down as a fail safe to the engine being on.

    start at the ignition switch
I think 2 or 3 wires should have constant battery power
will be a white wire and maybe also a brown wire
maybe whoever wired it up got power of something else like reverse lights or dash
    and that fuse has blown
does check engine light come on and do u have 5v at tps wires this will tell u if ecu is on
if it wont crank its not problem with ecu yet

do u have one of those crappy pissweak units installed they are called alarms hehehe they should be banned and never be fitted

i fit alarms and car accessories for a living so i know about all that but no there isnt anything like that in the car. im thinking i might just take it to a auto elec and let them at least track the issue for me and i will fix it. im just far to busy to be able to spend to much time on iy. either that or its going in the shed and getting a full rebuilt 1jz in it and ill buy a dunga to get to and from work or steal the misses car haha
