Default Help with broken and rusty MA63 dash - lots of pics

    Hi

Just got my hands on a MA63 instrument cluster. It arrived today, and AusPost have worked their magic.

    and this

It's also not in the best condition.

So I had the original analogue SA63 cluster I was going to fit - and I thought, "Those white surround look very similar to each other"

A couple of quick holes later to hold the boost gauge:

and a swap of the wiring template:

even the turbo light clips out of the MA63 and into the SA63 dash.

Now the problems. I could use some advice on how to fix these three issues.

Number one is the rusty boost gauge. I have removed it from the cluster, and taken the gauge apart. The part with the needle is clean, but the back "half" with the wiring is all rusty. How can I clean this up?It doesn't look so bad in the photo - but it's quite damaged in real life.

Problem number two: How to repair this?

    Problem number three:
Is this going to cause any issues down the track? The covering over the wiring has flaked off. I've tested it with the multimeter, and there is no break in the tracks.

Any advice would be most welcome.thanks.

Problem 1 & 3 may be solved with something from jaycar or similar electronics store., saw the stuff last time i was there.
Polyurethane Potting Compound - Jaycar Electronics
Heatsink Compound 5g tube - Jaycar Electronics
was the closest i could find online.

problem #2 you may try gluing it i guess, or maybe look at the spare sa63 dash, and put it in, and get a sticker made up for the face.

judging from this the clusters are the same enough to make it work

Contact cleaner and some light brushing action will get it clean, spray it with urethane seal coat
Wouldn't worry about the exposed trace either, just clean it and spray over it

Dunno about the cluster, some sort of glue?
