It is a straight forward gasket swap, nothing to really get your caught up.
Although in the BGB, it states to use some sealeant in and around where the cover melds over the cam. So it gives a better seal.
Hi, as you might know my daughter inlaw has a Holden Apollo with the 3s-f 2lt 16v carby motor in it.
Ok, the problem is I changed the plugs for her today and the pots where the plugs are would have been near 1/2 full of oil.
I know this is WRONG, so I have ordered the seals and a rocker cover gasket. Is there anything I should know before I start to replace this stuff.
Any info that might help, would be a great help thank you.
Thanks in advance.

spark plug tubes filling with oil on these engines is usually caused by the engine oil leaking past the threaded section of the tube. i.e. where the tube screws into the head.
Remove rocker cover, unscrew tubes, clean up the threads and apply thread sealer to the tubes thread before reassembling...
cheers.

I think someone have filled her up with oil and missed the oil filler hole.
I wish it was that simple. but they are covered untill you take the plug leads off.

yes rocker gasket . just make sure he surfaces are clean and dont tightern to much!
to clean out, pour a little petrol in each one, then use a rag and screw driver to get it all out.
Ok, jobs done. I think who every had the rocker cover off last time must have used bloody near 1/2 a tube of silicon when they put it back on.
I had to drill a hole through the tubes to get them undone, so the tubes got replaced to.
