Default New member (TA22 - Geelong - Vic)

    Hi all,

I'm Rachael, I'm from Geelong in Vic, and am about to embark on a full resto of a stock standard TA22.
Is there a particular thread for Celica's, or one for general advice on the resto process??

My plans so far are to start with a full strip out & soda & sand blast to get her back to a blank canvas, then go from there. I want to keep her as true to original as I can, but 2 things I want to change are adding air conditioning and use the existing vent lines & change the steering box to a rack with power steering.
Well, ideas at this stage until I can get more info on how to do it.

Looking forward to chatting and learning from you all.

    Rach.

    Welcome purplehaze

For a TA22, the best place to start is the classic Celica thread.

Jump in there and introduce yourself. There are plenty of helpful people there. Once you are done catching up there, check out some of the members rides threads.

...if you can get along to any Vic Toyota Car Club meets you will meet a stack of like minded TA22 owners, myself included. We can certainly help you out with info and any spare parts etc you are after. Check out the links below.

There is also a facebook page run by one of the guys in the TCCAV which specialises in old toyota parts so ask through that if you need anything as well. Search "Old Toyota Parts" and it should come up.

Looking forward to seeing some photos and progress on your project.

Welcome Rachael, are you going to be taking photos of everything through the resto?

Nice clean TA22 you've got there. Bit of vinyl paint and a new carpet and the interior will be schmick.

Am looking at getting it re-trimmed, as the drivers seat is knackered, the door cards have started to disintegrate behind the vinyl, and the hood lining is torn in one spot, but the back seat & passenger seat are fine.
