Default More questions about the 20V 4AGE

    Hi Everyone,

So another question about my new Corolla, I need to know what injectors I can put in it without any modifications.
The ones in there seem a bit noisy and look pretty old so I may as well replace them while I have some money.

If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

I called Toyota yesterday and they quoted me $380 .......... EACH!

    Cheers, Jacob

Injectors are generally noisy devices, they click when firing.
The 20V runs side feed injectors with 3-4 different version, some are low impedance, some are high impedance, some are higher CC rated then others.
Before you run out spending money on something you might not need, pull the injectors out and check the filter screens are not dirty.

Also, if you can tell us the colour of the injectors or the model number on them, we can define what ones they are

No worries, I'll have a look when I get home tonight or on the weekend when I get a chance

    Thank you very much!

As knightrous said, sometimes they just need a good clean, and it will run a lot better....
Try measures like that first before spending money for sure!

Another thing to look at is maybe replacing your fuel filter as well. These are a generally neglected item in most cars which it comes to services.

Yes I too think cleaning is the way to go unless you are boosting it or running lean for some other reason. Theres really no reason to change otherwise.

The one in this car looks old anyway - Do you know what the part number is for it or where I could get it from?

It seems to be running pretty rich at the moment actually but I have read its to do with me running open ITBs lol. Should I get them professionally cleaned?

If it's running rich, check that the oxygen sensor isn't kaput.

Might be a leaking injector(s). Could explain why you have trouble starting it if you've got an injector leaking fuel constantly into a cylinder or two.

So you suggest taking them out getting them tested and cleaned?
There is a guy around the corner from me selling a bunch of 20V parts including Injectors so I might just go get them and have them cleaned etc then get that in my car. He's also selling a pulley and solenoid and a few other parts I want

My injectors look like the ones above but I couldn't see any sort of markings at all
I managed to get another set of injectors the other day and the guy said they came off an auto 20v BT with 40,000kms on the motor but he chucked them in a cleaner anyway. So I may chuck them in but if they are a different resistance then they won't work, correct?
