2T cracked inlet manifold - why?

We race a 2T and last night after the first heat we found the inlet manifold cracked at the mountings onto the head. It is a std 2T which we rev to about 6 500. We run a 38 Weber without an airfilter. Is this a common problem ? Is there a supporting bracket that we are missing? We are looking for a big port to fit and would hate to loose that inlet manifold. Advice would be appreciated.

I don't know T engines but other Toyota engines have a chunky metal strap like you say to brace them. Is there a fairly solid looking threaded hole on the far end of the bottom of the manifold?

Yeah, this is what I was wondering. I have stripped a couple of 2T engine's and have never seen a bracket. Maybe they were all removed ?

I will likely receive some 2T parts today, if anything intake related in there I will have a look for you
