Factory Code for 98' Starlet Radio

Does anyone have the Sec Code for a 98' Toyota Starlet Radio/Cassette Player? Mums car came back from the crash repairer and because they disconnected the battery the radio needs the security code put in. Toyota want $50 to do it, i told her i might be able to get some help here!

It's often the last 3 or 4 digits of the VIN. It is with my Sportivo - but after 9 times it locks you out.

Try that - but not too many times.

yeah dood they are all different or what would be the point of having a code?

and toyota do not retrieve the code, they plug in a box that wipes the old code and give it a new one. and it actually does cost them money for every radio as the box has a digital display of how many radios the dealership has reset and they must pay for every one they do thats why they charge you for it.
