Default Wiring r34 TPS onto 2jz jza80 loom

    Hey guys,

Have almost finished my 1.5jz project using a jza80 loom

Will be using an after market 90mm throttle. Which for
    1. The rotating director was different
    2. Wouldn't work without an adaptor

Have bought a r34 TPS, fits and rotates spot on. Just not sure how to go about wiring it?

Have done some research but none overly helpful

I had it previously wired to my 1jz loom but that is long gone now

The jza80 loom has 2 TPS plugs one for traction control

    Cheers

i think the pink is power 5v

    white is signal

    black is ground

these tps dont have idle wire so if u are running aftermarket ecu u will be fine
get a multimeter and check resistance from black and pink as u turn tps resistance wont change
then check resistance from black to white resistance should rise
then check resistance from pink to white resistance should drop

next problem is the jza80 loom has two TPS plugs
Both plugs the same colour wires except one has a blue w/ red wire and the other has a red w/ blue wire

I'll be running a standard ecu, will I have problems without the idle wire?

Yes, you'll have problems with idle without the idle wire.
The ecu won't know when to engage the idle map, and the idle speed control valve. You may find that you'll to bump the idle up a few hundred rpm to stop it from stalling. It will be trial and error.

As for wiring, get a multimeter out and work out what each pin does. Should only take 15 mins.

    just google jza80 wiring diagrams
    heaps out there
find out which wires are for tps
anyway the tps that sits inside closest to centreline of motor is proper tps
and tps plug that goes on outisde is for trac

one end of the plugs will have brown wire this is ground
next wire in is idle contact
    next wire is is signal
next wire whihc is last one opposite side of plug to the brown is 5v power

If anyone needs help for the future:

WIRING WITH NISSAN TPS (when using an aftermarket ECU):

If you decide to reuse the Nissan TPS sensor that came with your used Q45 throttle body here is how to wire it up.

Nissan Q45 TPS sensor wires: Red - 5 volt input White - TPS signal Black - sensor return

ToyotaTPS harness wires: Blue/Red stripe - VC 5 volt supply Yellow - VTA throttle position signal Brown/Black stripe - sensor ground
