I had workshops help me out to do work on my MZ11 Soarer w/ JZX100 1JZ-GE half cut preparation, fitting, etc. Its very hard finding shops to do complete conversions in one go, even the ones i mention below lol.
Paden @ Unique Automotive (villawood) is worth asking to sort out the engine for you and he custom made a lot of bits for me (trans mount, t bar shifter, rear crossmember modifications, driveline & tailshaft). I pestered him for around 3 months before he said ok ship your half-cut to me, and work started then. He just gets very busy and is popular with RB/JZ engines as the man to go to in Syd. The work done by him is spot on so can vouch if you do get his help! Just took a while to get done.
Justin @ Pro-Wire Performance (minto/penrith nsw) is on this forum but he can sort out all the electrics and wiring. He also did some odds n ends taking care of some things that my workshop did miss over. In the workshop he is in, there is a fabricator, and I believe that he MAY be able to even do a whole conversion in the workshop if you had him + the other people sharing the space working on your car. Ive seen engines out and about in their shared workshop and they oftne work together anyway. So yeah get in t ouch with him (facebook search: ProWire Performance).
A place called Mr Enforcer in Chipping Norton still exists and i never visited them in person but theyre meant to be a drive in drive out conversion shop. Or used to be. On the phone they said they dont do the complete in-house job anymore cos its too costly to maintain. But i bet if youre nice and persistent enough you could persuade them...
I know theres other performance workshops around but in Syd is hard to find the right people who know old school Toyotas and new engines. Grim Performances is popular with the guys on Toymods knowing him well, he could sort you out possibly but isnt really in metro-sydney. If u want more info about either of these 2 guys just PM me or drop in and see them - very good people.

how much money u got to spend
if u have over 10 grand to spend then look around
and dont always go for the cheapest
cause with conversions u do get what u pay for
i got a call of an old customer he paid an extra 700 bucks to get some wiring tidied
and all they did was tape everything up and he then rang me and i said take it back
otheriwse it will cost u alot for me to come down from qld to fix others fuk ups
its not often u see a conversion with everything done right and that usually means dodgey shop or cheap price
mr enforcer do very good work
anyway do your research and figure how much u want to spend because what u want to spend and what u need to spend usualy is way different
racers choice at seven hills do conversions and alot of fabrication work.
i was never looking for a budget job.. im not a young pup,
and this defiantly isnt my first build. infact this would be my 6th celica,
unfortunately now im alot older, live in the city with minimal workspace, and have even less time to do so myself,
just looking for someone reliable and trustworthy that i can develop a good relationship with at the same time because as gay as it sounds, anyone who's done this before would know, this is a long term hobby, a build truly never ends. and ive seen my share of shonks.

Once there is a trust established with a workshop, i think the dollars almost become a non-priority. Its all about knowing that you are able to get the standard of workmanship that matches your expectations, especially when you have been through multiple car builds in the past.
Ive started my workshop based on a service that i dont feel really exists too much yet amoungst the automotive industry, especially in Sydney. That's to have a place where car enthusiasts are able to bring their project to a workshop where all the resources are at their fingertips, and can achieve a result without it being all about the money.

Its true about what Lorenzo said, once I developed the trust with my workshop I let them do their work and just footed the bill when it came without a hesitation. Although, sky's not the limit - I did confirm about approximated costs and was happy to continue once confirmed a ball park figure.
Im very interested in DrLorenzo's new work shop services, sounds very promising can't wait to give you a visit. I have a friend who should be coming by soon with an MA61 to chat as well.

Having lived with DrLorenzo, I can indeed verify that he is one rad dude.
If someone were to ask me "How rad is that dude?" while pointing at Laurence, I would say "Dude, that is one Rad Dude, man.." - without hesitation.
I assume people still care about this kind of thing.. How rad you are at being a dude.
When hell freezes over and I finally get around to doing my BEAMS 3S conversion in the AE102, I think I know where I'll be going...
